SQL Server Administration


This two day course provides a detailed overview of the SQL Server relational database system. It is designed to enable delegates to manage a SQL Server installation: to configure the environment, set up databases and ensure reliability and integrity.

Delegates should be familiar with Windows and Windows NT and have experience of systems management and ideally some experience of a relational databases and Client/Server computing.

The course uses a hands-on approach. Upon completion of the course the student will have a fuller understanding of: SQL Server; the role of the Administrator; the tools provided with SQL server for administration; the main tasks in administrating the system which include System Configuration, Managing Devices and Databases, Managing User Accounts and security, Database maintenance and performance.
